The Digital Economy Program is a free program for small business registered in Alberta, have zero to 49 employees and are home-based or commercial. It will work with small business to bring business owners training in Digital marketing and creating a digital platform. COVID-19 Support Funding For Small Businesses
Additional Relief measures for small businesses impacted by COVID-19 have been announced from both the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada this week:
Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant
Applications for a second payment of the Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant will open soon. The grant offers financial assistance to Alberta businesses, cooperatives, and non-profit organizations that were ordered to close or curtail operations and that experienced a revenue reduction of at least 40%, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses can now receive a second payment of up to $5,000. Click here to learn more.
Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS)
Small businesses can also apply for the Government of Canada’s new Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS). Canadian businesses, non-profit organizations, or charities who have seen a drop in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of their commercial rent or property expenses, starting on September 27, 2020, until June 2021.
