To support your investment ideas and to help grow our community several development incentives have been adopted. The incentives were developed with the community in mind and they strike a balance to enable a variety of residential and commercial growth options.
The purpose of this development incentive is to:
Revitalize a privately owned vacant, abandoned, derelict or poorly conditioned residential property and receive a municipal tax credit of up to $10,000.
Add a residential backyard suite to a privately owned residential property and receive a municipal tax credit up to $10,000 (building conversions apply).
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the Town has a complete housing stick to serve a diverse population. Setting the stage begins with an inventory of developable land that accommodates varied building types.
We invite interested parties to purchase any residential vacant parcel of land that is owned by the Town to build a home within 2-years of its purchase. Municipal tax credits are offered up to $15,000 upon occupancy of an approved residential new build. For details on what is offered, read the policy below.
