Development is an essential component of the long-term viability of our community. Development notices and subdivision applications are available for your reference. Review them to learn about the types of projects happening in the community that are in alignment with local planning documents.
A development notice is provided upon receipt of a completed development permit application pending the project conforms to the Land Use Bylaw. If the development permit application is for discretionary use, a notice will be provided to adjacent landowners prior to the development authority issuing a development notice.
Regardless of whether a development is a permitted or discretionary use, if a notice of decision is provided it triggers a standard 21-day appeal period. After the 21-day appeal period, the development authority provides a notice to commence development (or directed amendments). The notice to commence development aligns with the conditions identified within the notice of decision.
Oldman River Regional Services Commission (ORRSC) handles all subdivision applications on behalf of the Town. Subdivisions require thoughtful planning and are process-oriented.
