Prominent Environmental Consulting Inc. “PEC” is accepting applications to support our Class II Landfill operation located at the Duck Lake Road Waste Management Facility, approximately 15 minutes NW of Bassano, Alberta.

Site Supervisor/Scale Operator – 1 position
The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations on site and taking a lead role in decision making and tasks related to the day-to-day operation of the site.
Daily job tasks are primarily within the scale house and worked on a split schedule with scale house attendant but includes the tasks and expectations with supervising the site.
Scale Operator – 1 position
The Scale Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the landfill facility. This includes overseeing daily site operations such as scale management, heavy equipment operation, truck ticketing, facility maintenance, and environmental sampling.
The successful candidate will ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Heavy Equipment Operators – 2 positions
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the landfill site. This position involves a wide range of duties such as;
Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, compactors, excavators, loaders, and graders to manage waste placement and cover operations.
Maintain proper compaction, grading, and drainage to ensure efficient use of landfill space and compliance with engineering specifications.
Direct incoming vehicles to appropriate disposal areas and ensure waste is properly handled and placed.
These are salaried positions with a weekly workload that can vary between 30-60 hours, averaging approximately 40 hours per week over the course of the year.

The Town of Bassano has an active Fire Restriction. A Fire Restriction means no fires except for approved gas or propane cooking appliances, portable fire pits or campfires in designated fire sites within approved campgrounds.

The Town of Bassano has an active Fire Advisory. A Fire Advisory means fires are allowed but public warning advising of extreme caution is issued. This level is a warning and may be upgraded to a Fire Restriction of Fire Ban if conditions do not approve. Always have water nearby and fully extinguish your fire.

The Town of Bassano has NO ACTIVE FIRE BAN.
