PACE Canada LP has proposed the construction of a 15MW solar farm within the town’s corporate limits on private land (SE ¼ 18-21-18 W4M). The project was initially introduced to the council at their November 20, 2023 meeting. With the provincial government recently lifting the moratorium on renewable energy projects, PACE is taking steps to advance the solar farm project in Bassano.
To keep current on the solar farm developments, information about the proposed project will be updated on the town website under Notices & Newsletters. Additional project information can be found at info.pathdinferce.com and there is a list of fast facts available for pick-up at the town office.
Residents are encouraged to attend a town hall meeting with PACE representatives to learn about the proposed project, ask questions, and share ideas. Be advised, no decision has been made regarding the proposed solar farm development.
PACE is holding a final and virtual public consultation for the proposed Bassano Solar project on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
