What is FCSS?
Bassano Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) provides a wide range of services designed to promote individual, family and community wellness.
An advisory board is in place to assist with program planning to ensure programs meet the needs of the community. The members represent the various regions of the community and understand the needs and issues that affect us.
FCSS is a provincial program that is unique across Canada. It is a 80/20 funding partnership between the Province of Alberta and local municipalities or Metis settlements. Across the province Family and Community Support Services reaches 319 municipalities and Metis settlements.

Information and Referrals
FCSS provides information regarding social and emotional supports that are available to residents of Bassano. Contact us for more information on resources available to you or for supports in finding local resources.
Community Development & Asset Building
FCSS promotes, encourages, and works to facilitate the development of stronger communities. Contact us to become involved or for more information about partnership opportunities and new community initiatives.
Individual and Community Supports and Programs
FCSS provides support to residents through Individual and Seniors Support Services, as well as ongoing community programming. Please contact FCSS for more information regarding our current programs or follow us of Facebook to keep up to date with current programs.
Healthy Home Cooked Meals
Meals on Wheels
Bassano FCSS and the Playfair Lodge have teamed up to ensure community members have access to healthy home cooked meals daily at an affordable price and delivered to your door. If you would like to participate in the Meals on wheels program please complete the application below.
Current meal rate is $10.65 and is subject to change on an annual basis.
Join our Board of Directors
In Bassano a Council-appointed board is responsible for reviewing applications and providing community input into social needs programming. Without dedicated volunteers we would not be able to support our community.
To become a member of the FCSS Advisory Board please complete the Skill Matrix and send your completed matrix along with letter of interest to fcss@bassano.ca or drop off in person at the Town Office.
