Personal Safety is important for everyone. Having boundaries, awareness of your surroundings, recognizing signs of danger, self-defense strategies and listening to your intuition are all skills that can cultivated. Personal crimes can happen to anyone, you can develop a Safety Plan for yourself and your loved ones, which can help you prepare and avoid these situations before they occur.
The Safe Communities program is giving age-appropriate skills and knowledge to help protect individuals, through the development of situational awareness to recognize dangerous situations. Physical skills to ward off a potential attacker and the confidence to set clear boundaries enabling you to trust your intuition. All of these tools can help to ensure we are prepared to enter the world knowing what possible danger there may be and the confidence to handle them.
