Town Office Closed Thursdays

To the citizens of Bassano,
Please be advised that effective September 1st, 2018 to January 31st, 2019 the Town of Bassano municipal office will be closed to the public on Thursday’s.
The office will be closed to allow council and administration time to tend to a variety of high priority projects, such as, a 3-year operating plan and a 5-year capital infrastructure plan.
We understand that the office closure will be an adjustment for our citizens and we thank you for your patience during this time of transition.
Utility and tax payments can be made online or through local financial institutions.
Regular office hours Closed to the public
Monday – Wednesday and Friday Thursday
9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Proposed Community Standards Bylaw

Town of Bassano Council, at the July 9, 2018 Council Meeting, passed first reading towards a new Community Standards Bylaw, regulating unsightly properties and noise in the Town of Bassano.

The proposed Bylaw is scheduled to next appear before Council on August 13, 2018.  Should you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please contact the Bassano Town Office, or a Councillor, to ensure your opinion is heard.

CAO Resignation

The Town of Bassano Council regrets to inform that Kevin Miller, Bassano’s CAO, has accepted a position with the Government of Alberta, and will be leaving the Town in August.  Bassano Town Council would like to thank Kevin for his efforts during his time here, and wish him success in the future.

Council has immediately begun a search for both an Interim and Permanent CAO to take over the Town’s operations.  The job posting can be found at

The Town of Bassano has an automated notification/alert system in place and would like residents to update the phone numbers and email addresses so that we can ensure you are getting notified.  The notification system can send you an email, test or voice message however email & test messages are most effective as not everyone has the same voice mail service.
